Liria Music Prep was founded in 2018 by Avik Chari, a music engraver and composer. Since our inception, we have had the privilege of collaborating with a diverse range of composers and orchestras worldwide, preparing music for both live performances and recording sessions.
Our notable clients include esteemed composers like Felipe Lara, Kahchun Wong, Churen Li, and Koh Cheng Jin. Through these collaborations, we have prepared music for renowned orchestras and ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Singapore Symphony, Helsinki Philharmonic, Singapore Chinese Orchestra and the Parker Quartet.
At Liria Music Prep, we specialize in preparing music across various genres, from orchestral and chamber music to film scores. We are adept at handling complex music notation, including graphic scores, microtonal notation, and music for non-Western ensembles such as Chinese Orchestras.

Score and Part Preparation
We prepare music for rehearsals, performances and recording sessions. We convert your scores, be it handwritten manuscripts, MIDI mockups, or notation files, into professional scores and parts that would ensure all the musicians, (even the strings) love you and your music!

Score Editing/Consulting
If you are looking for a second set of eyes on an important piece of work prior to publishing, performance and recording sessions, we are happy to assist you!
We also help with house style creation and book collation for publishing your music.

Orchestration/Reduction
We take midi files from your DAW and prepare scores and parts that are ready for recording sessions and orchestrated to get as close as possible to your mockups.
We also take orchestral scores and reduce them into piano scores for study/rehearsal purposes.

Lead Engraver, Founder
Avik Chari
Avik Chari is a Singapore-based composer, music preparation specialist, and music librarian. He founded Liria Music Prep in 2018, leading a team in engraving and preparing music for large orchestras, operas, chamber ensembles, and choirs. Avik previously served as the orchestra librarian for the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and began his career by interning at the Boston Symphony Orchestra Library. He studied at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he trained under composers Tina Tallon and Felipe Lara and was honored with the Roger Sessions Memorial Award for composition.
Through Liria Music Prep, Avik has worked with renowned composers and conductors such as Hans Graf, Felipe Lara, and Kahchun Wong, preparing music for artists and ensembles including the LA Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Singapore Chinese Orchestra, and esperanza spalding. His expertise in music engraving and preparation has made Liria Music Prep a trusted resource for leading ensembles worldwide.

Maegan Neo
Maegan Neo is a Singapore-based composer and music librarian. Maegan has had formal training with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s Library team, which laid the foundation for her skills in music preparation.
During her time at the SSO, she had the privilege to assist in preparing classical orchestral scores and modern film and music scores. Maegan's attention detail has proved crucial in our proofreading work, spotting errors and inconsistencies with accuracy and ensuring that the composers intentions are precisely delivered. She is well-versed in notation software such as Sibelius and MuseScore.
